Bright's flat work is coming along nicely, he is following my feel and for the most part is staying between my hands and legs with a nice straight body. He is very soft and responsive to ride and I find I only need to apply a minimal amount off guidance for him to then follow. We have been struggling to pick up the left canter lead and I had been trying various ways to encourage him to take up the left lead, finally we got it! I was so pleased after we cantered half circle I stopped him and loved on him a lot, I think he got the message he had done well.
As with every week, I mix things up between arena work and trail riding and this week I added in sheep work. I rode bright in amongst the mob of sheep and pushed them around a little. He was not worried at all by them and seemed to really enjoy having a little job to do.
