Given the extensive progress Bright had last week, starting under saddle. I decided he could have a somewhat relaxing week with only 3 days work. We have predominately worked on moving forward; walk trot and canter (under saddle) and following the guidance of my reins and leg.
In these early stages of riding it is important that Bright can travel out so he doesn’t become sour with repetitive arena riding. I use natural obstacles such as logs, trees dirt mounds etc to get him to flex and steer around them.
Bright had his first hoof trim this week which he stood perfectly for. He is also gaining confidence around new people.
