Christopher Giles

Ridden Section: Professional Trainer

Chris was brought up around horses as his mother was a strapper in Racing stables. As his passion and love for horses and his dislike for conventional schooling grew, he left for the Northern Territory. There, aged only 15, Chris was given an unbroken horse and told to start it and be ready to muster with it in a few weeks. He views this time as one where he began developing his skills.

Chris’ philosophy to training is simple; Cool, Calm, Collected.

A cool head
A calm demeanour
A collected approach

Chris is looking forwards to showcasing what benefits his Cool, Calm, Collected approach offer the unhandled horse.

You can follow Chris on Facebook at C G Equine Education

VBA Red is an eight year old, chestnut gelding with a striking white splash on his barrel who was caught with his mares and foals from the Kosciuszko National Park in NSW in winter, 2015. Red was gelded shortly after his arrival at our Brumby Junction sanctuary and turned out while he got used to being a gelding on a farm. Reds trainer in the Australian Brumby Challenge is Chris Giles.

VBA Tallara

Tallara is a mature dun chestnut mare from Long Plain, Kosciuszko National Park in NSW.   Pregnant at capture, Tallara's foal VBA Khancoban, born at Brumby Junction Sanctuary, is also in the Challenge under the Yearling Section. Tallara's trainer for the Australian Brumby Challenge is Chris Giles.
