Australian Brumby Challenge ©

When I look back at the journey i have taken over the last months, i can only feel proud.

VBA Jill and Feathers have both challenged me physically emotionally and tested my abilities as a horseman.
I have learnt so much from these two wild horses, and i am looking forward to applying the knowledge i have learnt from them, to my life.

I am a little sad to see the end and also very relieved. I would like to thank my family.
My Wife Lucie who has supported me right throughout the process and is my inspiration in life, love and all things great in the world.
To my little boy Felix, i hope you never suffer as other have. I will endeavor to spend more time with you, as they are the most joyous moments of my life.
To the Bogong Horseback Family, Kath Steve Lin and Alex, thanks for picking up the slack while I was busy with my brumbies.

To the Amazing Sponsors that have helped me along the way. I couldn't have done it without you. Barastoc have been such a huge part of this journey. Supporting me and the horses from the wild to wonderful. And don't the horses just SHINE!
Cris Floats have got me on the road in Style. Both VBA Jill and Poppy will be traveling to the Melbourne Showgrounds First Class.
Natural Equipment have supplied me with all my horse gear for many years. Their halters and equipment are hard wearing, of the finest Quality and look pretty smick too.
Both Bianca Gillanders and Tamara Coakley have been a huge support in my journey into horsemanship. These are some tough women, who handel horses with a smile and years of unparalleled knowledge.

To the VBA committee, thanks for your trust in my abilities and  allowing me to take part in this journey. To do what i can to raise awareness of brumbies and support your efforts to save as many of these wonderful animals.

Finally to all the other sponsors and people who have dedicated products, time, effort and money to the cause.

Am i ready for EQUITANA
No - Those extra 3 weeks would be really handy about now.

Am i excited?
YEP- on the outside i’m cool calm and collected. On  the inside I’m ready to take Jill back to Bago and hide out for the next 10 years.

I will save you from a week by week recap. And end like this,

There was mud
Tears
Thoughts about quitting
Time well spent
time wasted

Two steps forwards
One back

When we get lost looking at how much more we could have achieved, how much better things could have been. It is important to turn around and see how far you’ve come.
How high you have  already climbed, there will always be some great new hight. Be happy with your-self and what you have already achieved, before setting your sights on the next level.

See you all at EQUITANA.
