VBA Nightingale

VBA Nightingale is a mature, black mare who was caught whilst pregnant from the Kiandra region of the Kosciuszko National Park in NSW in winter, 2014. Nightingale foaled down with VBA Seattle at our Brumby Junction sanctuary whilst she lived with her herd here.   Nightingale's trainer in the Australian Brumby Challenge is Daniel Stoneman.

Daniel Stoneman

Ridden Section: Professional Trainer

Daniel has ridden horses his whole life and has a passion for training and re-educating them. His love of horses and success in business also saw him appointed as a director of Equestrian Australia in late 2015. Daniel believes that horses are the best teachers, you just have to know how to listen. He is extremely excited to be involved in the Australian Brumby Challenge as he has a strong love for and connection with the Australian Brumby.

Daniels training philosophy encompasses several simple tenets; less is more, know when to push and when to give and ensure the education process if fun and enjoyable for the horse. Most importantly, listen to the horse – every horse is unique, especially one as special as a wild Brumby.

Daniel is excited to bring his skills, knowledge and passion to the table to ensure that the Brumby he is training has the best start to life. He is passionate about Brumby welfare and the rehoming program run by the Australian Brumby Challenge.
