Week 4 VBA AVENA Elizabeth Grant
This week I had to remind myself that Avena is only 7 months old and requires breaks to absorb what we have learnt.
Over the past 4 weeks we have been learning about each other. I can read her queues and know when she needs a break (or a sleep).
We have learnt about approach, face up, yielding, giving to pressure, pressure release and touch.
She has allowed me to touch all down her front legs and under her stomach (without a headstall and of her own free choice to stay), even though we haven’t got a headstall on I can see were taking small steps in the right direction (every step counts).
Our favourite and most enjoyable part of learning is when I am reading a book with her.
