Australian Brumby Challenge ©
I grew up around a herd of Palomino horses that my Mum bred.
At 11 years old, I saw a traumatic horse event that pushed me to search for better ways of training with horses.
I started my first horse at 14 years old.
I have studied horsemanship for twenty years.
For the last six years, I have started horses under saddle and taught lessons and clinics to help people get deeper connections with their horses.
I have competed in Reining, Campdrafting, Gymkhanas and Heavy Horse Shows, yet no area is as satisfying as helping a traumatised horse to trust again.
VBA Waratah is an approximately 14.2hh liver chestnut mare who was caught as a six year old, in 2017 from the Hume/ Bago State Forest in New South Wales. Waratah was caught by a new private trapping contractor and kept yarded for too long, resulting in her aborting her unborn foal due to stress, which is something we work very hard to avoid.
VBA Waratah's trainer in the McDowells Australian Brumby Challenge is Emma Bryant.
