Tamara Janus and VBA Nugget: Week Thirteen
This week Nugget has only had a few rides but he has been interacted with daily at feed time getting a good groom after unrugging him.
I managed to squeeze in a lesson with my wonderful coach Wayne Williams on Thursday. When training a horse, it is so important to get a second set of eyes have a look at where you’re at and how improvements can be made. Wayne has a wealth of experience & whilst he is an accomplished horseman, he doesn’t care what horse you ride or how much you paid for it… he helps each one achieve its potential.
This week I also decided that I will not be purchasing Nugget at the end of the challenge. Whilst I would love to keep him, I already have a herd of horses that with my workload barely get ridden. I think he needs his own human to love and care for him, in return I know they will have a super horse that will go anywhere and try his heart out. I will be participating in the auction pre-approval program so for anyone interested in Nugget we can arrange times to come meet and assess suitability.
I believe he would be best suited to a trail, obstacle, pony club type home. He is not a super fast pony but he is solid & honest. He doesn’t get bothered in new situations and just takes everything in his stride. I could write about him all day, he is just that sweet 😊
We are starting to work on lateral manoeuvres now & am excited to what we can bring to Equitana.
