Day 98 day off
Day 99 Coby played with Lucy the goat! They were very cute together. Coby has been scared of her since she butted him the first time they met, and then she got him square in the head the second time so he had good reason to be.
All the other horses just ignore her and she doesn't bother with them but Coby was very interested, and curiosity killed the cat...
But Sunday they got along so well and played several times, her butting him in the chest, and then rubbing their heads together, him doing little play strikes and her rearing up at him. Then they would stop for a break and just touch noses.
Day 100 It rained... So we did one session this morning working on chaining our freestyle behaviours together, and then he went and at grass for the rest of the day.
Day 101 I wormed all the horses in the morning, Coby was much less upset about it this time. We had Matilda and Jackie over. We went for a walk up the road, Coby was a tad excited as he hasn't been out for a few weeks, also the cows jumped out of a bush, ran up the fence and startled him a lot!
When we got back Matilda helped with his freestyle training but running through some of his behaviours so I could watch how they're going.
Thank you both!!!
Day 102 We did a short session am and pm, but Coby had a very mildly upset stomach I think, possibly a combination of worming the day before and not sleeping enough during the day as he was too busy gorging on grass. He was a bit grumpy and finding it hard to concentrate so we stopped and he went off to eat with the other ponies for the rest of the day.
Day 103 We had wonderful Michelle and her daughter Jaymee out for photos this morning. Coby was still a little off, just grumpy and not interested in training, so we just got some birthday photos (he is 1 on Sunday). Michelle bought him a birthday sash and some balloons after that we went for a little solo walk down the road to eat grass.
Now as you can see I'm wearing a very short school dress This is for Do It In A Dress www.doitinadress.com/team/horseplay
Raising money to send girls in Africa to school, every $300 raised will send one girl to school for a year! If you'd like to donate or join in please head to the website.
Michelle also has a whole album dedicated to Do It In A Dress month if you'd like to have a look through. https://www.facebook.com/Michelle-Knoll-Photography-133375650336855/
Thank you Michelle and Jaymee!!!
Today we also had Rachel over for his treatment, unfortunately it didn't quite happen as one of my other horses needed it more and Coby wasn't really in the mood, so he will probably have one next week.
Day 104 Much happier little brum today, I kept him off the grass for the day, he had lots of hay and naps with the other ponies. It definitely helped.
We worked on standing still and relaxed over several short sessions. Since I started chaining behaviours together, I (in my panic about how close EQUITANA is) rushed him a bit, so we needed to go back and do things a bit slower and pay more attention to him being calm about each section of behaviours. We also had some people over and a lovely young girl who walked straight up to him in the paddock for pats and cuddles, and then she wrapped her arms around his neck, he just snuffed in her hair and chewed a little on her coat haha
And big thank you's to Coby's sponsors!!!
