Australian Brumby Challenge ©

This week as gone super fast seeing as I have been sick and has been incredibly busy. This week started with us building upon the leading skills which Dynamo had learnt in the previous week. She is now walking next to me in a more confident manner. My brother and I took Dynamo for a walk in the conservation park near our house which she really enjoyed. Dynamo also had a rug put on. At first she was a little worried about having it on however I didn’t push her and just quietly put it on her and she was fine. It took Dynamo a little while to get used to the rug as she didn’t realise that you could bend your neck. Later in the week, I decided to get Dynamo used to a tarp. She walked on it straight away however if I lifted it or moved it she got worried about it. I plan to have someone hold it for me so that I can focus getting her more comfortable with it. Dynamo is also currently learning how to eat hard food. I decided to use one of my other horses, Puzzle, to help teach Dynamo that hard food can be nice. I am still working on this as Dynamo will eat a bit but then become uninterested in it. Dynamo has also become friends with my dog!

In week 4, I hope to teach Dynamo to step onto objects and to continue to get her used to the tarp and eating hard food.
