Kristen Kenny

From Caringbah NSW: Adult Trainer

Kristen's horse journey began at age 12 when she had her first riding lesson. By 16, she had saved enough money to purchase her first horse.

In 2004, Kristen realised a dream when she purchased Kurnell Boarding Stables and Riding School with her business partner.

Kristen finds it incredibly rewarding to work with the ‘misunderstood and difficult horses’.

Kristen enjoys promoting Brumbies through competing her own two Guy Fawkes Brumbies up to Royal Show level and always enjoys peoples surprise when they realise her horses are in fact Brumbies.

Kristen loves the connection that comes with being the first trainer of a wild Brumby and is looking forward to the challenge of the Australian Brumby Yearling Challenge.

VBA Violet

VBA Violet was caught from the Bogong High Plains (Mt Nelse) area on the 21st of May 2019 as a ‘weanling’ aged foal. Although caught with several members of her family group, it appeared that her mother was not amongst them.

Violet was turned out with one of the other youngsters from her family group into one of our transition paddocks where she learned a little about life on a  farm (i.e. tractors bring HAY!) before heading off in the Australian Brumby Yearling Challenge.

Violet is a gorgeous dark brown filly who is super curious about everything around her.

VBA Violet's trainer in the Australian Brumby Yearling Challenge is Kristen Kenny.
